William James Hurry

Was in the habit of going to market in a Pony and Trap and having a few ?? Ales with his cronies before going home.

He usually fell asleep on the way home but the Pony new the way  so it didn't normally matter.

However the day he drowned apparently he had a different horse not used to going to Market and William must have forgotten about it , went to sleep on the way home as usual and the pony kept going at the turn off near Thorney Dyke went into the water and William Drowned :: with his heavy work clothes , half sozzled and probably could not even swim he couldn't get out ot the water and so he drowned.

Hedley Migrated to USA on board SS Teutonic and arrived at Ellis Island New York on 20th February 1896 and as told by my Mother had shares in a cattle Ranch in Nebraska.
